(Check out http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=359828 for reference.) I sold my C3 today for my asking price, no questions asked. It's new owner was smiling from ear to ear while pulling out of the driveway. It was REALLY difficult seeing my C3 going down the street and KNOWING that would be the last time I would ever see my first corvette again.
I'm depressed, yet happy at the same time. I think I need something to drink... and I'm not even a social drinker!! My C3 is on it's way down to Ft. Lauderdale and I don't know how to react!! I've got a pretty girlfriend to lean on, so maybe she'll let me sob on her shoulder. :cry
I seriously considered selling my 82 and buying your car. But, I commute 80 miles each day and the gas would bet a little expensive! Doubt I could keep my foot out of it.
I'll be looking for a '99 or '00 C5 with 6sp, Z51 handling package, and HUD. Not sure on the color yet since I'm not really impressed with those options.
Every since I started going back to college, I was making payments on my C3 while it sat in the driveway most of the time. On the weekends I do homework and am busy, and sometimes I would drive to school but I wasn't thrilled about leaving my vette in the school parking lot next to all of those ricers. So to get the best of both worlds, I made an extremely calculated and tough decision to sell my C3 and get a C5 as a daily driver (more enjoyment for about the same payments). This was 3 months ago when I went on vacation and had time to think clearly. If I made enough money to own both I would have, but I'm just thankful that I can own ONE corvette.
well fro-daddy it was good while you had it right? and C5s kick ace too. remember to check back on the C3 pages post-C5. youll be happy to know i changed my mind on wheels. im getting Intro-Twisted Vistas. still 18" but 18x8 up front and 18x10 in back. ill be running either 305s or 315s in back woo!. theyll even cost a grand less. have fun with the C5, id like to have one myself.
What's up with everyone selling their 81's? Hopefully I'll never talk myself into selling mine, unless absolutly necessary. Of course, it was my first car and first vette. So I've got a place for it in my heart :D Good luck on looking for a C5 :seeya
From: Who says "Nothing is impossible" ? I've been doing nothing for years.
Re: [[ I just sold my C3 ]] (corvettemaster)
I watched the whole experience unfold from when you unloaded it from the trailer ( you were a pretty happy amigo on that day) to fixing it up etc. and now to selling.

I hope it was a great trip !
It was a great experience and I will never forget the fun I had with it!
Oh yea, I forgot to thank Vette Finders for their awesome website service! My buyer contacted me through their website!!
The good thing is that you got what you were asking  . I'm sure you'll be very pleased with the C5 that you pick up. You may even end up with another C3 later down the road :yesnod: . A C5 for a dailey driver and a C3 weekend warrior, life would be pretty good ;) .
Hit those books Fro and it'll all happen for you

You got that right! If I could afford both I would have done so in a heartbeat. PROSOUTH is 100% correct in that in a few years I'm going to :cry because I sold my first corvette.
And Olivier you are right about finding a nice C5. For me to get one, it has to be one that stands out and impresses me. I'm going to be patient in getting what I want, after all it took me 1.5 months to sell my C3 so I'm used to anticipation by now. :yesnod:
Hang-in there Fro! Once you drive a C5 daily, you'll be a spoiled college boy.
Must have been a tough call. I glad to have one of each. :)
I was heading for one of each myself, but now we're going to take advantage of the low interest rates and refinance to 15 year note on the house. Another $200/month, so much for money for a C5 in the near future. :cry
But an opportunity to own your own house well before retirement, PRICELESS!
