Default 1976 L48 Ported Vacuum Switch

I was replacing vacuum hoses on my '76 (i just bought it, it had been sitting a while before I got it). I broke the ported vacuum switch that is right next to the thermostat housing. I need to order a new one but I'm having trouble finding the right one. The switch i need is the black one, but the only ones i can find for 1976 are white, gray, and green. I found a black one, part # PVS48, but it is listed everywhere for a 1978 vette. I want to make sure this will work before I spend the $40 on it. If not, does anyone know the part # for the black switch for 1976? Thanks!

There are two thermal vacuum switches for 1976 but I don't know if all had both. One is for the EGR (and probably EVAP) system(s); the other for EFE.

The EGR valve is mounted on the intake manifold on the passenger side. The EFE valve is also on the passenger side and mounts to the exhaust manifold.

From what I can find the part number for your EGR TVS switch is 364788 and it has a white top; the part number for your EFE TVS switch is 355963 and it has a green top.

If yours is a California car the part numbers might be different but I find nothing to tell me how.

Thank you!! Now, the switch I broke was black, with a white cap. The one you said for EGR, 364788, is all white. Does this matter at all? I read online that the different color switches open at different temps.

I don't know if a white cap and white body switch are the same. I do know that a picture of an OEM EGR TVS switch I found for '76 shows a white body. Perhaps the one in your car is a replacement? My guess though is that a white cap and white body both signify the same operation.
