Default Brake Lines ?

Has anyone done their brake lines lately?
I have a 74 with poer brakes & I was underneath it late last night ,the main
line from the prop. valve to the rear brakes was leaking,to do what i thought would be a fairly simple fix I picked up a line from the local parts place.I first mounted it to the junction block that goes from the LH to the RH
rear wheels when I got under it to connect it to the prop valve the fitting there is larger than at the rear.Has any one seen this?If so what did you do?As I said it was late & things (as usual) had not went as planned.I'm not sure if I can find a line with different size fittings or not or if I would be able to find an adaptor? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Going thru the same problem on a chevy truck. The dealer uses non standard fitting sizes many times. Not sure if this is true but I was told by the parts counter that I may have to change the prop valve to the replacement style that has the connections that match the standard line fittings. Hope you find an easier method. If so clue me in.

Thanks for the compliment 74 Vette, Its the original paint still on there and the color is Elkhart Green code 947. I believe this color was offered in the 72 and 73 model years only.

 :mad
I went through this a while ago. PITA, but there is a solution. The line I needed was from the prop. valve to the MC. Pep boys sells 'adapters' that are short lines with those strange sized fittings. So I bought some of those, along with a regular line that was too long. I cut the ends off everything, and put the green fittings on the new line (by now it was the right shape/length). Then I bought, broke, and returned many flaring kits (cheap tools suck). Big source of frustration. When I had exhausted the areas supply of double flare kits, I took the line to a mechanic at pep boys, gave him a few bucks and he flared the end for me. 20/20 hindsight makes this a small deal, but at the time it sucked. And don't bother asking a 'legit' mechanic if he will flare a line for you... much less a dealer :jester
