This is for a 1980 and I've been searching for several days to find some pictures on how to do this. I know I want to tap into the empty "IGN" positions in the fuse panel. What I don't know is how to get get the wire out the back of the fuse box into the engine bay. It does not appear to me that the back portion of the fuse box in the engine bay comes off.
I figured that there would be a thread showing this but no luck. Shop manual is no help on this either.
My other option would be the aux fan keyed power, but I'll do that as a last resort.
A little guidance and a pic or two would be much appreciated.
There's a bolt (5/16" I think) in the center of connector in the engine bay. That connector then separates into two pieces for the two harnesses--the forward lamp harness and the engine harness.
To run a single wire I do suggesting finding an alternate route (like the grommet for the speedometer cable) as it's quite a big deal to add another conductor into that connector. I'm doing just that right now as I'm doing quite a number of electrical system improvements. By "big deal" I mean that the cabin harness has to be removed in order to add a terminal in that side of the connector. To remove the cabin harness you have to remove the entire center console and dash. While you might be able to add another terminal in the engine side of the connector without removing the harness it wouldn't be particularly fun.
