mechanic finally figured it out by accident. It was my windshield wiper motor. They think the stop switch went bad and caused the motor to try and turn on and they don't work so it was drawing power and overheating. Mechanic accidentally touched it and burned his finger haha. Unplug the motor and no more issues. I love/hate when it's something so simple. 2 weeks in the shop for that...
