i believe krylon is the best stuff to use , try and find a can of satin black. as far as taking the paint off , my gf likes to use her finger nails , giving me some quiet time as she chips away , or you could try some paint thiner.

Laquer thinner should get the remainder of the paint off the reason it always flakes off is no one ever scuffs the metal or primes it first .Try that ,maybe it will help.

I used an aerosol paint stripper. I let it soak in and scrubbed the loosened paint off with steel wool (remove the trim first).

I primed it and resprayed it with a matte black spray paint.

Here's another question. I have been wanting to repaint my rear window molding as well, but can't figure out how to get it off the car. Any suggestions on how this is done?
Thanks!

Yep.

There's a window trim removal tool that you'll need. NAPA has it for around $8.00. It has a handle with two flat blades that extend out at about 90 degrees from each other. When you get it, IM me and I'll tell you how to use it.

I used Brake Cleaner. Sprayed it on a rag, and carfully rubbed with the tip of my finger wrapped in the rag. Old paint came right off...
