1976 Stingray Oil issue
Changing the oil is a simple procedure, and it's not likely that your going to ruin your engine by doing so. If you started it up and had a huge puddle of oil under the car, I'd worry.....but having a little smoke and a few burbles of oil after working on the car is somewhat satisfying to me....I know I've done something.
I recommend that you start it up and let the car get up to temperature, watch the oil pressure gauge, and temperature gauge, and have a look under the car once in a while just to make sure there are no major leaks.....the smoke and burbling oil should eventually disappear and then you can take it for a spin
