but since people are jumping in. I use Red Line synthetic 20-50 they have a non racing version that is better suited to my use. I've used Red Line forever on Harleys and never heard of a problem. There are some well known race engine builders that use it. I called for a recommendation and they transferred me to an engineer.

I think the only place non synthetic is recommended is the differential and then add 2 gm posi additives.
i run on my 79 all synthetic including manual super t10 transmission which i find superior to the other 3 i tried.
leaks? 😂 fix them as they leak..
also i run gm power steering fluid..
