Think they are blown?
Replaced the 4x6s in the dash with Polk speakers, and this is what I pulled out of the dash: think they are blown?
BTW, I'm thinking about putting some felt in between the speaker and the grill to help with the sun.. any thoughts?

Hmmm, they MIGHT be blown...better wait for a professional to check them out. :lol:
BTW - How hard is it to get them out of the dash? Do you have to remove the whole dash?

on the '82, pop the grille. Mine has 4 7mm hex screws holding them in. the ones up against the glass we a pita since I didn't have a 1/4" driver, but they were not too tight, and I used a vice grip around the socket.. worked well. I DID have to cut the factory plugs too. one thing I'm not sure of. the speaker wires were labelled A and B. I assumed the speaker connectors hadn't changed in the 20 years difference so I connected A to positive and B to ground

Surprisingly, they actually sounded half way decent until I dropped the Sony in the car.. then the right (bottom speaker) went completely.
