I picked up somehting at Home Depot made by Rustoleum. It is a liquid and used it on the inside area of the doors. It comes in a little white plastic bottle.

I just used a brush with this stuff. You could put it into something and spray it. You know one of those canisters that you charge with compressed air, it is that thin

For hard to reach places I would use OSPHO. Its a rust killer that can be painted over. I am planning to use POR 15 on my frame.

Hmmm, I don't think Rustoleum makes it, although it may be similar. It comes in a gallon, you spray it on or brush it on, it is green in color and can be bought at just about any hardware store.

Don't use ANTHING else on areas where you plan to use POR-15 (except for their Metal Ready preparation liquid). POR-15 is intended for application "directly" on metal, NOT on some other paint product.

I agree with some posts... wire brush and use POR 15. It will get into the little nooks and crannies if you use a small brush. Dont forget to use metal ready as that converts the rust into oxide and then the POR 15... Ive used POR 15 exclusively on my chassis, radiator surround and suspension and it is BRILLIANT.. For inside the chassis where I couldnt reach I used deoderised fish oil in a spray can which is a great rust inhibator. (not quite without the smell though although it does fade over a couple of weeks) !!

Grt POR 15 and do it once and do it properly

Stick with POR-15 and their recomended pre-treatment only! If you just have to paint with something else, Eastwood's Corroless is a good product.

I have used both Eastwood's Corroless and POR-15. Stick with the POR. It works better than the Corroless. The advantage with the Corroless is it comes in a spray can as well as a brush on.

Is it a good idea to buff before pretreating? Or just pressure wash, let dry pretreat, then POR15?

I guess it depends on the item you're working on, the current smoothness, the desired smoothness, etc.

In my case, I wanted all the surface rust removed from the frame without wearing myself down to a nub :D , so I had the frame sandblasted, blew all residual dust (inside and out) off, brushed on Metal-Ready and let dry, blew off white powder that results, and then brushed on two coats of POR-15 (amazing stuff).

The POR-15 dried without ANY traces of brush marks!!!!!

Make sure to wash brushes in lacquer thinners or they're rock-hard in the morning.

IF YOU DECIDE TO SPRAY WITH POR-15.........FOLLOW THE CAUTIONS TO THE LETTER!!!!!! Dangerous stuff to inhale.

Good luck.
