Dual Spal Setup, Electrical Question
I have 40Amp relays, with all the pins, including 87a.
Question is, do I hook up 87 and leave 87a or do I need to hook up 87a somewhere?
I can't remember, but I think the power is the same, but the logic is different based on the circuit diagrams. I think that if 87 is off, the switch for the high input (30) is on, but if 87a is used, it dosen't matter if it is hot or not, the switch to 30 is always closed.
But, my memory may be failng.
Also, if I use 87, the relays are hooked up in serial (the power goes into relay 1, then daisy-chains to relay 2. Should I plan on a 60Amp load (30 each)? I can't remember if Amps are additive or not.
Here is a simple diagram of what I've got...
Thanks!

30\51= High amperage input
86= low amperage input (the flood gate device if you will)
87= High amperage output (when the flood gate is open)
87a= High amperage output (when the flood gate is closed... ie NO juice being applied to 86)
Typically 87a is not used in your application
No they are not additive in that senaro. Max capacty is 30 amps. I have the same set up in my baby. I suggest each relay to each fan.
good luck. "rember dont fry bacon in the nude"

I also got uprated 40Amp Beuler relays from an electrical parts store here in town (Vegas), BU-5083-0000
