TTS Powersystems sells a cable for about $150 to connect to a laptop or you can get a used OTC on ebay a little cheaper. TTS will give you a real time stream from the ECM and save run data for you to check out. The only diagnostics available that I know of are built into the ECM architecture on the same level as the BLM's and fuel integrators. You dont need a cable to scan codes, you just need a paperclip to jumper two wires on the ALDL connector. The best resource I've found for troubleshooting is the TPI Swappers Guide. If you have a specific question ask me or try the C4 forum, they have helped me in the past.

Re: Need TPI troubleshooting software (nitrocharger)
what problems are you having with it?If your having a check engine light on you can jump the aldl connector with a jumper between 2 of the terminals so itll flash the code through the light.
Re: Need TPI troubleshooting software (pats406nitrovette)
I want to check if the car is runnung open or closed loop. What the water temp sensor is reading. The car is getting terrable milage and is a dog off the line(89 GTA 5.7 close ratio 4 speed, 3.70). I think it might be stuck in warm up mode or not running in open(?) mode. just want to find out a little more info than what the dignastic link tells you.
Are you getting a code now? If it is major enough, the car will be in open loop. Get all your codes cleared then if you are still having problems get the TTS cable. It will tell you whether or not you are in open/closed loop and will also give you real time data so you can see what the ECM is seeing at any given instant. Did you just add TPI or are you just starting to have problems with it?

Re: Need TPI troubleshooting software (nitrocharger)
I have had the TPI on for a couple of years. A freind installed the same setup on his 77 5.7,4 spd, 3.70 howell harness and chip and the cars are like day and night.I thought mine was slow off the line but didnt know how bad until I drove another car with the same setup.
I need to get go back to basics to trouble shoot so I can find out why the big differance.
If you jumper the test pinout to the ground on the ALDL w/ the engine running the CEL will flash. Fast flashing is open loop, slow (every 2 secs or so) is closed loop.
