what headers would be best? 82,with 1989 full tpi engine/heads?
Your existing 82 OEM tubular exhaust manifolds do not suck if under 350 hp. They will bolt on to Vortec heads but pay close attention to the port match as the raised ports may require some minor gasket matching to the manifolds as there is a lot of extra weld metal inside the flange of the factory welds.
If you have an automatic the C4 OEM tubular exhaust manifolds can also be used. If you have a stick then the C4 L98 OEM tubular header on the drivers side will foul the Z bar.
I used a 81-82 manifold on the drivers side and a C4 L98 manifold on the passenger side of my L98 aluminum head swap in my 69 4-speed. (I cut off welded shut the EGR tubes)
If you desire aftermarket long tube then anything designed for the C3 should fit but, again, pay attention to the port match.

Get real headers and actually acomplish something.I have a friend that put those later manifolds on his car and he noticed nothing. They weigh a few pounds less but that's it.the tubes are so small it doesn't make sense.

Completely agree with the above. Do you want it cheap or good?
If just trying to get the car running your current manifolds would fit. If building a restomod with some go then get aftermarket.
Thread in the C4 tech section about exh guy was going to toss his in the trash.
If you want good then as said skip the L98 ones they suck...nothing special about them far as performance just nicer than log manifolds.
Get real headers or stay with stock stuff. Headers dont leak nowadays most have nice thick flanges on them. not like the old Cyclone or $79 Blackjacks from way back.
