Default 454 knock

I have a fresh built 454 with the orig block, turned crank, rods, and new pistons, rings, and brngs . When cold, the engine runs fine but after warming up, I get a knock which sounds like a rod bearing. I don't think it's a rod because the oil pressure idles at 35 and goes to 75 with the throttle. It is loud, but, can be heard best in # 6 header. Any ideas? Thanks!!

Pull the pan and look at each bearing individually. It is possible you have the wrong sized bearing in there. Will damage your crank if it goes too long. Best not to run it anymore until you pull the pan and inspect.

Pull the plug wire off of #6 while it's running and see if the knock goes away or lessens, then report back.

Exhaust leak or rocker loose, check them before you tear anything apart. If that's not it then cut the oil filter apart and look for metal.

How long ago did you do the build on the engine and did you weld the sump to the oil pump ! I had mine come off the oil pump which were both brand new but wasn't tack welded together and it sounded just like a knock in the bottom end but you didn't hear it all the time !
