Rebuilding rear trailing arms. My rear Spindle flange was worn and needed replaced. I went to a local source and got a used flange. It didn't fit.... Swapped it for a different used one.
This time dig through to find a number that matched the bad flange I had. The flange I had was. 3839831N. I Found a 3839831NF cast on it.
below is my old flange.
The new/old flange is below.
I tried to install the new flange and the Asher that goes in the recessed area doesn't even fit. The washer is too wide for this position. Additionally if you look closely if looks like one is cut deeper than the other in that location.
am I missing something? Were these things possibly turned on a lathe to make it a proper fit with a specific washer? I need help.
Please do not install junk like that. That looks like a China made copy, machine work is real bad.
Order one from a corvette place, see if they post a picture of the part. Look at the machine work. Demand better parts! ASK where it is made!
Corvette America is good for great pictures of parts.
Best I can tell is it's not a repop. The guy I got it from parts out a bunch of Corvettes. the more we dug in his pile the more differences we'd see. The posts on the corner were shorter than others. There just seems to be more variability than I thought there was....
