Default Torq converter upgrade? ?????

Ok my question here is I have a 1969 350 original small block and it's a automatic. My engine is tired so eventually planning to have a 383 dropped in there but for now using it as is. The car just started with a really bad trans fluid leak. Thinking it's going to be the seal so would you upgrade the torq converter now while replacing the seal or wait until the new motor goes in. The trans leak will be addressed in the next week or so and the motor probably not until the end of the year. If I should replace the torq converter now what do you all recommend?

I'd wait until the new motor.....it's characteristics will dictate which torque converter you'll need.
