Default Heater Core Help

I need to pick up a new heater core for my 77' with A/C. I have been hearing horror stories with the replacement cores. Not fitting right with tubes not lining up, all kinds of problems. Most of the vendors sell them for $80.00, but Wilcox has it for $126.00. Is there any differences between the $80 core or the $126 dollar one... I don't mind spending a few bucks more to get the right one...

One thing I like about Wilcox and Biars. I assume they sell me the same parts that they install on cars in their own shop. I would gladly pay $46 more if I never had to replace another heater core.

My 69 A/C car needed a heater core. I got mine from Wilcox because IMO this job is a night mare to do and never want to do again. Just needed to tweek the tubes a small amount to get to fit. Make sure to get new gaskets to reseal heater box. T

Get a quality part from a good vender.

Most importantly put the new one next to the old one and make sure they are the same. This is a good time to make any slight adjustments.

I would get a new set of seals.. and Hoses / clamps.

i replaced my non AC one. it was a tad taller ( about 1/8th inch ) forcing me to pull the interior box out to work on getting it to fit. when researching, I saw reviews stating that the AC one was totally wrong size and would not fit. it did allow me to scrub out and paint and really clean up the interior and exterior boxes.

remove your old one, order a new one from autozone and eyeball compare them. I ordered mine for 42$ and it showed up in 2 days.

After you get the new one, take it to your local radiator shop and have them pressure test it to make sure there are no leaks before you install it. Better safe than having to pull it out a second time.
