Rear wheel studs
To remove the wheel studs on my 82 on the rear end is it as simple as removing those 4 bolts from the shaft? I don't want to drill
Holes as I've seen mentioned

I'm pretty sure you would have to remove the spindles from the bearing housing so you can press the old out and the new in.

When I needed to put longer studs in, I cut a notch in the dust shields where I could get the old studs out and put new ones in. I just rotated the hub to line up the stud I was replacing with the notch.

I don't have any pics. I cut the notches about at the 5 or 7 o'clock position depending on the side of the car. After I took the rotors off, I just looked where there was the most space behind the backing dust shield and cut a notch wide enough for the stud to fit through. I then tapped the old one out and pulled the new one through with a lug nut.

Well I was trying to go around from cutting up the dust shield. But looks like I got no choice lol. What did you use to cut a notch? I tried a drill but can't get a good angle to start the hole. Any advice?

If you remove an old stud, will that give you a better angle to drill a hole? If it will, just cut half the old stud off and then punch the remainder of it out. Once you have the hole in the shield you should be able to just knock the remainder of them out through the hole and reinstall new ones through it as well.
As for putting a hole in the shield, just use a rubber body plug to cover the hole and it will look like the factory did it for you.
Good luck... GUSTO
