Can't sleep. I know this may sound stupid, but I'm not going to put that motor in my car (454HO from my "RAT" post). I'm just having this sensory overload or something, and I can't do it. I like my 'Vette, it's a great car, it looks and runs really nice, but it's just not "The One". I don't know if I'm just not excited about the color combination, or it's the thought of putting another $5000 dollars worth of engine and related parts into it. For some reason I just can't get excited about going through all the work to do the swap on this one. So, I'm going to sell it (my Corvette) ,and try to figure out what the heck to do next. I guess I'll just try to take the winter and figure out which year, color, will be "The One".
Anyway, Bob, Dennis, and everyone, thanks for all the encouraging posts! I hope next spring I'll be back in it and able to use your help. I'll try posting this over in for sale, but if anyone is or knows anyone that is interested in my '73, please let me know. I'm going to ask $10,000. I don't know if this is a good deal, but it's a heckuva lot more car for 10 than it was last year when I bought it for $7500. It's got 5-6K worth of new interior and drivetrain parts, and it would be a great car for anyone who gets it, it was for me. Maybe now I can get some sleep. Thanks.
Have you been drinking tonight? What is it about your car that you don't like or makes you think it isn't the one? Do you know what your ideal car would be? Just wondering and I hope you sober up in the am. :D

Nahhhhh.....he's not 'drunk' - there's a stroke of intelligence in that posting.....
What you need ORVette is a 1968 BIG BLOCK Corvette with the 427 already in the car...... :D :D :D ....or a second choice might be a non-matching #'s 1969 vette with a 454 crate engine.
Maurice-No, no booze, it's just that I've done so much to this thing, and for some reason it still doesn't feel like "My Car". Like I said, there is really nothing I don't like about it, other people really dig it, it's just not the one for me.
Verksel-Hi. I don't know if either of yours would do the trick for me, but I'd sure like to try! The blue one in your sig sure looks good.
Silvr77-I think I'm going to keep the motor, for inspiration. Besides, I don't really know how much I could get for it, maybe $4000 tops, and then I would just have to spend $4700 or more to buy another one when the time comes. If I do decide I can't keep it, the Forum will be the first to know.
Brettmc-I don't know. I just think I need to take a break and figure out what I'd like to shoot for. My wife and I are in the middle of two real estate deals, and we just found out today that she is 2 weeks pregnant. I get totally obsessed with car stuff, especially so since the motor arrived, and I am having a really hard time concentrating on anything else. We have been through 2 miscarriages trying to have a baby, and Bec really needs me to be able to give her my full attention sometimes.
Anyway, I'll head over to for sale and post something to see if there is any interest in it here. If not I'll try it locally for a week or so, then maybe try the Ebay thing. Wish me luck, and thanks for all the replies.
Troy, I totally understand where you're coming from. It's tough putting that much work into a car when it's not the one you really want. Keep the motor and find the right car. Congrats to you and your wife. :seeya
