I have my 85, but the wife wanted a c3. So I bought her a project, and said there you go hon!!!!
Well needless to say, it needs everything.
So over the next few months, I will be asking alot,,,Where can I get this at a good price?
I picked up a 78, runs good, needs paint, interior, suspension.
You may want to pick up a Mid-America or Corvette Central (or other vette vendor) catalog and start going through them.
You may also want to spend some time and go through a number of members websites, including yours truly. You can ussually click on a link below in the signature area.
I'd also suggest a couple of books such as the Assembly Instruction Manual (about $25 with index) and Richard Newton's How to restore and modify your 68-82 Corvette.
There's other good books out there also. But I would get a little background before going too deep. Then have fun. :smash: :smash:
Ok, here is my first one.
Where can I get the chrome rocker moldings for the 78?
And what can I expect to pay for them?'' Thanks :seeya
They don't come in 'chrome' - however, I do think you mean polished, right ??? .....You can always strip off the flat black & re-polish them.
IF they're gone - try the "for sale" section of the forum or eBay which is a restorer's best set of options if you're on a budget..... ;)
For really tough parts - especially if you want mint condition - try ZIPS....Zips Corvette Products is the most complete restoration company for Corvettes - they have EVERYTHING ! ...no :jester -ing !!! :chevy ;) :flag
Welcome my new bretheren. Take the short cut now while she's down for maintenance and give your wife the gift of massive cubic inches. There's nothing like the feeling of a 454 off the line! It's the gift that keeps on giving.
Weasle
