Don't worry about it. The fan doesn't come on until some time after that, seems like it is 230 but I don't remember exactly. New cars run hotter than that all the time. :yesnod:
my 71 bb at first ran normal at 210 ( i have since changed it). I think that is normal. however IMO that does not leave you any room for error incase there is a failure.

yeah, it's normal but that doesn't make it right. chevy did that (and still do) as kind of a patch to get the cars to pass emissions. the standards are low enough for 20 year old cars i would recommend installing a 180-190* 'stat and you shouldn't see 200+ except on hot days at idle.
