Front coil springs for blown big blocks

Front coil springs for blown big blocks
I recently converted my 69 from a 350 to a 454, I swapped the old front coils for a new set of big block springs from zip. They brought the front end back up to where it's supposed to be but now I'm building another big block for it, this time it's a 454 with an 8-71 blower. I can't beleive how heavy that 8-71 is, the complete assembly with carbs and all has to weigh damn near 200 pounds. I'm sure I'm going to need to swap out the front coils again because of how heavy that blower is, the blown 454 will weigh about 200 pounds more than the 454 that's in it now. Does anyone know what front springs I should put in it? I've seen lots of blown big block c-3's, I'm curious what front springs they're using. Maybe from a big block pickup truck? Does anyone know?

A guess, a coil over shock system that has adjustable ride height

they replace the existing spring and shock. Maybe someone else will comment on other options.

That might be the best way to go but it's also the most expensive. The six or seven hundred dollars I'll save by going with regular front coil springs can be put towards the engine build instead. If money was no object I'd go with the coilovers but my budget for this project is limited.

It's too bad you couldn't have gone with an LS that is lighter and makes more power than a blown 454. They are pretty pricey, but you'd have the right ride height.
