Default good A/C reference site

I've don't know these guys, but the site seemed imformative.

While I'm waiting for my caliper kit to arrive, I started working on my A/C. I changed my orifice tube and accumulator, evac'd and recharged. My low side pressure is good (30) but high side stinks (50). The line at the orafice tube is in has ice on it. Sound like a clogged evap or bad compressor? I figured a clogged evap would still produce a higher high side and lower low. Any opinions?

Sounds like a bad compressor. Clogged evap would make for very low low-side pressure.

I agree, bad compressor, assuming you have at least 2 cans in it, and the system is actually running.....not cycleing like mad or some such radical abnormality....
