Default Driving the 72

In past years I drove the 72 mostly on weekends and on some vacation trips. I even had it on Hot Rod Power Tour twice. This year I've been driving it almost daily to work and just about everywhere.

With the daily driving it actually seems to run better, and is always a pleasure to drive. :)

Do you guys experience the same thing?

I try to drive mine as often as possible, just love long scenic cruises with the top down. Last night I did a 100 mile cruise, heat on, cool crisp night. You are right, the more they are driven the better they tend to run.

at least it seems the more I drive it the less it seems to break, or my breakage per mileage average is less, depending on how you look at it :D, Of course my wallet seems to get lighter the more I drive it, but hey I didn't buy it for gas mileage.

All vehicles deteriorate just as bad from sitting and being driven....
better off driving the damn thing.....everyday, not just weekends....
those garage queens take a whole lot of doing to get them into shape...on and off a trailer does NOT qualify a car to be driven....

easy to get 300k miles out of a daily driver....but in vettedom....well hi milage is considered 100k miles...or less...depending....
and guess what??? for the amont of miles driven, we experience the same breakdowns.....so I say just drive it normally, NOT 1/4 mile at a time, and it's fine piece of engineering....

These cars were engineered well. For those with small blocks, the venerable 350 has made a good daily driver out of many cars. The breakdowns occur because of age and the abuse many of these cars may have seen in the past. Driving them often / daily gives you the ability to monitior subtle changes in acceleration , breaking, start up, steering, etc. This way problems are caught as the arise and before they become serious. It's the best way to stay tuned into the car.

i noticed that my first few trips with my car after my repaint were kinda sketchy, having to replace a few parts because of the time it sat (11 months) driving it to staten island and back didnt really help because it broke twice, once on the way down and once coming home (minor things that i rigged to get me around). now that its what almost october, mine has not had one bug, problem or light burn out because i have driven it every other day, drove it in rain, 100*+ temps and 50* temps. she likes to be driven.
