Can the Hi-beam/Low-beam switch from 78 and up be used in a Tilt/Telescope column to replace the original 77 part?
I have installed an 82 pulse wiper system with the control on the console, so I no longer need this function in the turn signal lever. The original 77 part seems to be unavailable.
I have a '77 myself and it is my understanding that the pivot is the rare item. The switches appear to be available. I actually have a new turn signal switch that I'm hesitant to install for fear of damaging the pivot.

I'm sorry I was less than exact. My question should have been - Is the turn signal/dimmer assembly from a 78 up column compatible with a 77 TT column?
it does work it is the same switch. Just trace the wires and match the wire configuration on the old switch. You have to move one wire from the d slot on the connector to the c slot on the connector so two wire are in the c slot. You also have to drill out the casting so the big hole is 11/32 to fit the shoulder bolt. Just finished putting one in my 77 and it works great.
thanks a bunch! This forum and people like you have been such a great help over the years.
At this point in the disassembly process I've removed the turn signal switch.
Does the casting need to be removed for that drilling operation and to remove the pivot assembly?
