Holley's Monopoly.....
I am not in the bench racing scene anymore so not sure what is happening most of the time.
It appears Holley bought QFT and BG fuel (What was left).
What is the Die cast "Brawler" carb for $350? Why so cheap........???
It is hard for me to run anything else but a HP series but these things have hit the stratosphere......
Anyone close to the industry have an inside skinny?

There use to be nothing better than a Holley carb and Holley kept renewing there patent so no one could copy there design but then they released it and now it is widely copied. They too jumped on the EFI train.
Holley has made many of hundreds of millions building Carbs and has bought into just about every Hot Rod industry to stay alive and I for one am very thankful they did as Most of these manufactures would be gone.
I believe they are still owned by Lincolnshire Equity Fund IV, L.P.
The story Im told by a friend who works at holley is that Quick fuel owner wanted to retire so holley bought him out. I recently went to quick fuel which is In a different building across town from holley. There is a big sign now on the door that states its not a retail location . You now have to call holley which has no retail location in bowling green ...... makes no since that they would rather ship me a carb at their cost vs me picking it up on my dime.
As to the new BRAWLER carb , I was told it is a lot like the quick fuel slayer series . I have one new in the box that I will be using on my 69 bb .

I was wondering the same thing. When I took my QFT 750 cfm Super Street series apart to rebuild it there was a mixture of Holley parts and a Proform throttle body. Plus- my Holley fuel pressure regulator has "Made in China" cast into the housing. I'm doing work licensing a product unrelated to cars and noticed the dates and time periods for patents can vary. I wonder if Holley just allowed their patent to reach the end of its term and did not spend the $$$$$ to renew it. (You would not believe how much it costs to get a patent!)
Summit's website claims that all "Every Holley carb is built in the USA", though I assume that they're built using parts sourced from all over the world.

On a side note the employees get a very nice discount on any holley product . The brawler I posted a pic of was 140 dollars at his cost !
