Default Corvette Central Magnaflow Mufflers

Hi guys,

I am planning to install the 2.4" Corvette Central Magnaflow Mufflers on my 1972 SB Corvette. Now, my exhaust pipes and the current mufflers just fit perfectly (I really mean PERFECTLY) under the car... and I definitely want to keep that and do not want to jeopardize this perfect fit.

So, my question is... how good do the Corvette Central Magnaflow Mufflers fit to perfectly installed original exhaust pipes?

Anybody made any experience?

Thanks!

Cheers...
René

I would email Richard Waitus at MagnaFlow and ask him.

I have Corvette Central dual exhaust on my '79 and have often thought about swapping out the mufflers for the Magnaflows. I will be interested in hearing what you learn.

I have CC true duals on my 79 with the Magnaflow mufflers. Everything fits great and the mufflers tuck up in and hide very nicely.

I replaced JUST the mufflers on my 72 with the CC Magnaflows about 2 years ago with no fitment issues at all.

Just a nice rumble until you put your foot in it, then it wakes up.
So not loud in the car at all and certainly not annoying like some other mufflers.

We install the proper inlet and outlet on the Magnaflow muffler bodies to fit 1972 directly. 323416 will fit your secondary pipes properly and use a stock tip/extension.

Are you saying you modify the Magnaflows, or do you have them made correctly?

I just put the true dual kit on my 81 and the fitment was great and the sound is perfect if you ask me. Not too loud but sounds great when you get on it. Nice on the highway too.

Two thumbs for this kit.

Can't speak for SB but the BB version with Magnaflows fitted my '70 perfectly - the exhaust installer guy said he was really impressed with fit and quality. I agree, and the sound is nice, not over the top and roar-loud when secondaries open. Lovely.

We are adding an inlet and outlet, not modifying an existing. We get the Magnaflow Muffler case/body only with no inlet or outlet pipe installed. We put the muffler body in a fixture and weld the correct bend inlet and outlet on for Corvettes.

On my 69 SB, they fit like stock. No problem whatsoever, easy installation. Regarding the loudness, it is a prefference thing. I meassured mine and they sport around 90 dB when idling! If I cannot bring the volume down they will have to go. I do a lot of 70+miles/hour trips and these almost 100dB hurt my ears...

Has anyone done their measuring?

Default My CC Muffler fits bad

I purchased the CC 2 1/2" Exhaust for my 72 and had issues with the passenger side mid-pipe being to short. This caused the muffler on that side to be way off.

I experienced terrible customer service trying to resolve the issue and gave up dealing with them.

The System on my 71 is a Corvette Central 2.5 Inch Magnaflow System. Perfect fit to me! If the weather is decent, then I will be at the Ladenburg Corvette Meet with my car on the 7th of May...

I have bought ( 3 ) sets of duels from Corvette Central. one on my 1982. one on my 1980, & one on my 1977. I used stainless steel bands on all three sets, so I can remove without welding. I have had no problems with any of them. The set on my 82 have been on since, I believe 12 years. Not too loud at all. I love riding down the road with the windows down. Good Luck, Gene
