Where did my brake fluid go?
Willwood master cylinder drained Booster after removing master cylinder MC removed Underside of MC rod
I checked all calipers and didn't notice any fluids. The car has been sitting in garage for about a year and half. I do start it every 4 to 5 months. The willwood MC aND calipers have been on the car about 7 years.
Since the rod is wet behind and in front of the seal it looks to me that the fluid leaked past not only the master cylinder seal but also the booster seal. I bet your fluid has formed a small lake inside the bottom of your booster.
In the pix, the M cylinder end piston area looks too clean, like it was new, so I would be examining the brake lines really good, and one of my mystery leaks came down to that silly valve with the wire on it, nothing but an alarm switch that light a lite to tell you one of the brake circuits has no pressure.....woopie doo, as if a driver can't tell that from the feel of the way the car reacts......My brake switch was replaced with a simple splitter block for the front, and the rear line run straight to the m/cylinder....no more mystery fluid loss......I wish I had all that Wilwood brakes set up on my car....love to find a used set for the front....
