My buddy has a set of Hooker Competition Adjustable length headers for a C3 Vette. The headers still have the instruction sheet with them and the Hooker number is 2302, but if you search for that, you only find "block hugger" headers. Is it possible anybody has "old"...very old...information on them as to the tube size and "exact" application..??

Catalog listing "2302HKR Chevy Fast Burn Heads, polished stainless 269" block hugger is all I could find as well. I'd give Hooker a call and ask for some help researching them. And, now that my curiosity is up, please to post up any findings. Good luck!
While the 2304 are for a Camaro/Nova, that is the "style" of the headers my buddy has. The biggest difference is that fact the 1 3/4" tube headers don't have the plate bolted to the cylinder head, but the rest is the same.
I would really like to have a shop put the engine on a dyno, before installing it in the car to see what power can be had with the 1 3/4" adjustable headers (I think they may be to small for the 413 C.I. the engine will be) but I can't find a place anywhere near me to do that. I also would like recommendations on what other people have done on cylinder heads, including compression ratios they used on an "overbore" 400 small block.
Do you already have the heads. I wasn't the smartest person when I began my solid roller stoker motor. I already had 1 3/4 hooker SC headers. I should have bit the bullet and bought the spread port big cc port heads. Then take my vette to a shop and have custom 2 inch headers made with merge collectors. I also all ready had full length 3 inch exhaust system

You can see what I have in my 406 in my signature. I can run 93 octane pump gas only because of extremely careful tuning and a very tight .034" squish (quench). It is very borderline though. A little 100 octane unleaded mixed in helps a lot.
The engine pulls very hard from 3500 rpm, what the stall is on my converter to 7500 rpm. It has great street manners and got 21 miles per gallon cruising on the interstate when the motor and tranny was in my 80 Vette.
