Default Another Timing Question

78 l-48 stock. All emissions, vapor canister have been removed, everything plugged on carb. My question is does this have any affect on timing? The book says 6 deg btdc, checked it with dist vac line plugged & it was @ 8deg. Don't think it would make a difference but wanted to hear from the experts, thanks.

It has no effect on timing.
You can probably run 12 deg btdc....... you will get a little better throttle response.
