An Edelbrock RPM Air Gap is always a good choice for anything from a mild to fairly hot build.

I've never been a fan of the Torker or Torker II manifolds.

I don't know about a noticeable difference but a dual plane manifold, like the one suggested, will give better drivability on the street and better low end torque. Single plane manifolds provide better top end HP but how often are you going to drive the thing wide open?

An RPM Air Gap will out perform a Torker II through the entire RPM range and yes you will notice the difference. The Torker is not really good at anything except for hood clearance.

You may consider a bigger carburetor A 680 with a dual plane is a little small for your application. Some single plane intakes work fine on the street and a smaller carb would be just fine with that

I swap my 383 for a 454 the cat had a torker2 on it for hood cleance,
For a 454 it was a low end pig but he also gave me the base model performer and i swapped it out, and damn it man what a kick in the seat of the pants dyno,

Now all the cool i hear about the air gap i get curious if its worth another intake swap.

I really like the ZZ4 intake I have on my 79. I did have a Performer RPM on there that worked well, too.

Ive never used an Air Gap intake, but I have had both my 79 Vette and 72 Buick 455 run poorly because the intake charge was too cool to properly atomize the gasoline. For WOT, cooler air is better, but a warm very atomized intake charge is best for part throttle response, which is most of what driving on the street is.
