Hi Barry, thanks for the pic. Is the air cleaner original or repro? and what kind of intake is installed?
It's seems that you have more space than me regarding the gap between the base plate and the coil. Is the Holley higher than the Qjet.
To fit my air filter I need to remove one bolt of the bracket and move it 2 cm from the screw hole.
Air cleaner base is original 47 year old GM unit. (Cover is a repro, original is not looking so good)
Intake is original GM LT-1 "Winters".
I am not aware that a Holley is higher than a Q-jet. Without checking, I would have thought a q-jet was higher.
Now I've to find a correct ignition shield box for my 70. What's about the repro, are they made with good quality, are they fit without issue?
Many thanks to all for your help
You mentioned in your first post that you have an "early" '70.
For the '70 model year there were two different ignition shields used. For the start of the '70 model year the '69 boxes were used. Then sometime during the production year, the '71 style shield were used.
I have the '71 style shield, car was built in June. I don't know when the switch over was done.
