PrarieShark - it was surprisingly easy to take apart, gave it a good cleaning, a little sanding, some primer and then hi-temp red, came out nice. If you want to polish it talk to Brutus, he's a polishing freak! Sand it down smooth and start with the polish, you could make it look like chrome.
Aaron-74 - thanks! But it's not perfect, I had the motor out for 4+ months so I went at it with a chisel getting all the bonding material a little smoother, then did a bit of sanding. Painted the whole engine compartment even the wiper area...what a pain but it came out nice.

My first run was my best so far, R/T .591 at 13.883, not sleeping at the lights anymore. But I still have shifting issues, really have to get that new shifter in and the tranny adjusted.

Olivier- no, left the baffles in, too freakin hot out there to be doing anything more than sitting. I'll probably keep going to the events but until I get my shifting issues worked out I don't think I'll be running...plus I can't afford to break anything.

As for the vegemite, I'm putting out some fake babies for Holloween and using it to simulate baby poop, actually I don't know that it would be a simulation really :lol:
