Help!
On a 1972 Vette, on the top of the steering column, there is a receptacle wherein 2 connector housings plug into.1 is connector with several wires is white the other Black.
Q: Is there a sequence to plugging these 2 connectors to the recep on the column i.e. white housing first then black or ??
Thanks in advance.

Look close at the connectors and check the orientation into the switch. One has a tab that goes under the other one. I just did my 69 and can't tell you. Old age has it's problems.

Thank you, You just answered my question. It appears the White Housing goes in first then the black. I now have to pull the column out to release the lock clamp on the black housing since I only have 2 hands and they are not small.

THe lock clip is on the top. One finger will do it. But you need to pull at the same time.

Default Std vs T&T Strg Columns

One thing that was not mentioned. Standard (non-adjustable) columns and T&T columns operate their respective ignition switches in opposite directions. So there are two distinct ignition switches that bolt onto the top of the steering column jacket. There is only one vehicle wiring harness. So that wiring harness must be twisted 180 degrees if you are changing from one type steering column to the other.

Jim, would it make sense if I didn't turn the harness 180 degrees that the car still starts?

Ignition switch from my 69. Second photo shows the release clips. Don't lose the small screws......
