Oil Filter Adapter Questions
I know it was there when I took the engine block there. Now I'm
at the machine shop because they removed it and at myself for not going over the block before receiving it and not noticing it during my rebuilding the engine. My questions is
Were the OEM adapters made of steel and came with a bypass valve?
Did they have a gasket between it and the block?
I did order one from Summitt it is made of aluminum and a gasket is not needed and it has a bypass and bolts are included. It has positive reviews.
As for the machine shop, even though several months have passed I've got to let them know about their error since I did pay for the work that was done. I have paid a price for not checking and a painful reminder for not doing so.
Mine was just a bolt on with gasket and bolts.
