Default Normal high performance rustoleum paint on brakes

OK, so I did something that's probably stupid. I grabbed my can of high performance rustoleum primer and primed my brake calipers. Today I stop by lowes to grab a can of high performance rustoleum paint in red, for the top coat. As I'm looking for it a realize high performance isn't high heat. Am I screwed?

Depends on how hot your calipers will get. I put an oil based red paint on the calipers of one of my RX-7 and the paint did not peel off, despite my aggressive use of the brakes on some long down grades in the mountains of western NC. If you race your car, you may cook some of the paint so it discolors.

It may be just fine. Either wait and see or grab the brake cleaner and scrub it off while it's still new.

Betcha never have a problem. I used to paint 2 stroke tuned pipes with Rust-O and at 7-800 degree EGT it never had a problem.

If your calipers get hot enough to burn paint off of them, you have more serious issues than paint quality.

Daily driver style driving. Sweet, thanks everyone. I was getting ready to fire up the sandblaster and really didn't want to.

If I have to use a rattle can, it's Rustolium, even though the can has a temp reading on it, the paint holds up great.
There is one draw back to using Rustolium paint on things that will be in the sun. The ultra violet rays cause it to oxidize in sunlight. Great for anything under the hood.
