T5 transmission
I'm sure there is a post on here somewhere but can't see to find it so I apologize if so. But I'm looking to buy a Ford t5 out of a mustang but trying to find a adapter or a bell housing to fit my small block chevy. Any information or a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

With the wide variety of Chevy transmission and aftermarket transmissions that bolt right up to a Corvette...what is so special about a Ford transmission that you would want to try to use it on a Corvette?? Maybe its just because you own one? Not trying to discourage you, just asking a question.

I currently have a non-world class in the car now but afraid to really get on it. Thought a world class out of a mustang would do better. Don't have the money for a t56 or too at the moment. I know you get what you pay for.

MANY, MANY previous threads on this subject. I once owned a GM WC T-5 that I was going to use but my HP dreams went up so I am going T-56.
Do an "Advanced Search" under the "Search" icon in the red toolbar.
Just type in "T5 transmission" and scroll to the C3 section and you will find your answer plus many who have gone before you.
There are both adapter plates, DIY instructions and aftermarket bellhousings that will work.
I always use a scattershield as once you start messing with a trans outside its original application you need a little extra insurance...imho.
Good luck

I have a Lakewood scatershield/bellhousing that will adapt a Ford T5 or 3550 5 speed to it. It is new and I want $350 plus shipping. Original cost was almost $600. Let me know if you would like more information. Thanks Don

They don't make that bellhousing anymore....
To hook up a WC T5 Ford any other way will require fabbing up an adapter plate- plus a Chevy bellhousing...
When I did my swap- I would have jumped all over this deal-
However-If you want to fab one up-

I almost purchased a Ford t5 years ago and was told the "Iron Duke" bellhousing out of early 80's Jeeps mates a Ford t5 to a Chevy motor.
Sorry OP, I cant confirm this, because I eventually found a chevy T5.
