Repro Inside Rear View Mirror Issues
I recently bought a repro inside rear view mirror and the mounting tab is slightly thinner than the original which causes the mirror to move even when fully tightened. Anybody have a good solution for this? The only thing I can think of is to shim the tab or add same material to it and grind to proper size. Thoughts?

Is the little square bushing, inside the hole in the mirror's mounting tab? Without that bushing, the mirror won't tighten up.

Ah! I now see the little square bushing in the old mirror. The new mirror did not come with that. Hopefully transferring that over will do the trick.

It should solve your problem. I make that bushing...
and for a good reason...

That square bushing has got to be the smallest part on the whole car!
But it pops right out of the old mirror.

Yep. Should work. Note that my repo mirror did come with one, but was too short and did not work. A separate bushing did the trick.
