Does anyone have the contact info for the forum member who was making the brackets to make the 4 speed crossmember a bolt in. Or does anyone else sell them. I need them as soon as possible. Thanks!
I did mine the same way as Richard454.. I'm not as fancy, I just made straight cuts- but I did weld nuts on the inside after I drilled the bolt holes. Spin them out and no hassle trying to get a wrench on them.
Pat, I guess the automatic is so much bigger that it wouldn't come out without being able to remove the crossmember. Sure would have been easier for us if they made them all that way.
I actually bought and have a nice used automatic crossmember and was going to go that route. But then realized my frame wouldn't have the weld nuts for the bottom two bolts on each side needed. Figured it would be easier to cut mine and be done with it.
