Im changing my electric fan setup on my 1981, and looking for a port that I can use for the new fan temp switch that Im wanting to use (a BWM 2 temp switch with a Volvo fan controller).
I originally tried the 3/4" port on the top of the water pump, but the switch is too tall, and smog pump is in the way. I can ALMOST make it, but not quite.
So looking at ports on the top of the manifold that I can use. The engine Coolant Temp sensor looks like a usable location for the new fan switch, so wanted to ask if I move the engine coolant temp sensor to the other port with a 1/2 to 3/8 brass bushing reducer, am I asking for trouble from the computer? I was using that 1/2" port for the fan temp switch on my old setup, so I dont need that switch there anymore.
Id love to use that 1/2" port for the new fan controller temp switch, but the hose is in the way.
I know another option is to run an inline fitting in the hose, but trying to avoid that if I can. I will do that if its the last resort.
Any thoughts?
