Default 1976 Front Rotor Rivet Removal

Hey everyone,

I'm sure this has been asked before, but being new to the forum I'm not sure how to search for it. I'm working on replacing the front rotors, wheel bearings, calipers and brake pads on my 1976 vette. I know that I have to remove the rivets from the rotor, but everything I have tried (with my minimal tools) does not work. I have drilled out the center of the upset heads and used a punch but they won't budge. Is there a trick that someone has used? Is it fine to just drill straight through them? Any help would be greatly appreciated with this whole process.

Once you drill out the rivets you need to use a dead blow hammer to knock it Loose then they'll come off

Did you drill out the entire rivet and just knock the spindle loose or did you drill the head of the rivet off and use a punch and dead blow to push the rivet through?

Drill the head of the rivet off then smack the rotor and it will break loose.
