I am about to begin the assembly of my 383 stroker with a Scat crank and Scat Competition Series 5.7 rods. The rods have cap screws for more clearance. I also have the factory 76 oil pan that came on the engine. I have read other forums related to these stroker engines with stock oil pans and some say yes, some say maybe, and some say no. I want to get your experiences with 383 stroker Vette's and factory 350 oil pans. Thanks!!!

Should be no issue with the OEM oil pan, we do them all the time for the stock-appearing units where the pan must remain.
You should be able to even fit an OEM windage tray with the pan.
Thanks, Gary in N.Y.
P.S. Here's a shot of a 100% stock-appearing 383" build with an LT-1 tray mounted and the factory pan, this one's not a Vette deal, but the Vette pan should also go with very little effort?

Gosofast: Any idea whether the same guidelines applies to an L82 oil pan?
On this same GENERAL subject: Anyone know whether you can REMOVE the oil pan in place with a Steeroids rack installed? My usual mechanic said he didn't think you could get the oil pan off without dropping the rack-- that gave me pause...
