Guys, I will replace the Power Steering pump on my LS-5. I am looking at Corvette Pacifica, as apparently their quality is good. They offer stock rebuilt pumps at ~~ $249, but also offer a Saginaw pump at $149. Is the Saginaw pump better? It is new ... I more flow or pressure with the hydroboost, maybe?
Any other ideas?
Chris
BTW moved back to Hagerstown MD, any attend the local car cruises or cars and coffee events?
Carbster, it may also be worth touching base with Tony at Tony's Corvette Shop in Gaithersburg, MD. I live just outside of Frederick and he was able to supply me with a complete NOS pump and housing from his vast stash of parts. I gave him my old unit, $30 and some assorted parts. Can't promise he has anything to help you, but it's possibly worth reaching out to him as you could pick it up and save on shipping?
Thanks Highlander. I am not a big fan of Tony's right now. He is always far too busy and the one time I booked a dyno session it turned out not to be. I will leave it at that. There are a few options, I want the thing to work first. I see Borgeson sells a unit "made" for hydroboost, of course it will be somewhat universal ... I think I will contact Duntov. Reviewing Jim Shea's info,I need some more flow. Another option would be a custom KRC unit .... So, Duntov first, then a Borgeson and ... if needed a custom KRC application.
Ever attend any cruise nights? We live pretty close to one another
Hi Carbster Chris, did you ever find a pump? I ask because I'm putting together my HB conversion approach and parts list. I see that a 94-95 astrovan uses a power steering pump (about $60 @ autozone/Advance) with two low pressure returns built in. Also, borgeson universal pump is available (about $150). What did you use?

I'll give the probably unpopular suggestion: local auto parts store. I got a power steering pump from autozone for like $50 a year ago to replace my leaky stock one. It fit perfectly and hasn't leaked a drop!
