Control Arm Bushing - Press or Hammer Them In
I am doing an NCRS restoration of a 70 BB convertible. I have it disassembled down to a bare frame. I am ready to install new bushing in the control arms. I have researched CF, NCRS, the internet and YouTube. It is about 50/50 from what I have found to press in the bushing or just put a socket over them and hammer them in. What is CF's opinion on the best way to go?
Thanks,
Allen

I hate beating on anything with a hammer if I can avoid it, so I'm a press-it-in guy. The factory built stuff was pressed in.

My new bushing shells were a .001" - .003" tight fit. I was able to hammer them in, no issue. Probably would have to press them in if overcoming a tighter fit.

If you dont have a press like me the socket method works just fine.

Thanks for all the responses.
I have had the bushings in the freezer for quite a while. I have a good friend with a press, so I am going to try the press method in the next few days.
I'll let you know how it goes.
