My 78 S/A had 59K 12 years ago when I took it it the Corvette Barnes here in Syracuse for an alignment. The owner was a C3 team race guy from the 70. They suggested I do a front and rear end suspension rebuild and $60 install of a grease fitting in the rear bearing carrier of the rear trailing arms. I have 101600K on the Odemeter but I think it should be 122000K because the odometer reads 25% low.
when I have the yearly New York inspection I have them grease the front end and a small amount of grease in the rear bearing carrier.

Grease fitting for the rear wheel bearing has been around for a long time, but experts like Gary Ramadei who routinely rebuilds trailing arms told me personally that its not a good idea:
