Default Griffin versus Be Cool Radiators

I know I have seen this in some threads, but can I get some feedback on Griffin versus Be Cool. I have a couplke of qoutes on direct fit Griffins... (would rather not modify and also 15% discount ordering on the net)

There is a price difference, but I am really looking for overall cooling performance as well as a radiator that will last a while.

Any experience with these would be appreciated...

(pics will be on my website soon...This CF doesn't have any room for new ones apparantly!)

IMHO both are quality radiators. I don't have any experience with the Be Cool, but my Griffin works really well for me :yesnod: . You should also have a proper working fan to get the most from your new radiator ;) .

DeWitts Repro radiators used to have a comparison of the Harrison, Griffin, and Be Cool radiators and their relative cooling efficiency. The site may still have the information: http://www.dewitts.com

I have a Griffin Radiator on my 68... I didn't buy the Direct Fit Radiator. I went with one of the Universal Fit Radiators and it was a perfect fit for approx. 1/2 the price...

I think it's pretty much a wash between the two. They are the two names of aftermarket radiators that I've heard the most praise about.

I have a universal 31"x19" on mine with the only fabrication being the hoses.

This is what I got except mine has a blue anodized filler neck:

$10 cheaper than the Griffin rad and fits pretty much perfect.

I have the BeCool 62029 in my 79 with a 700R4 racing tranny. they are supposed to cool 600 ci and 1000 hp. I had to trim the shroud by the drivers side upper water hose. But they said that later versions would have this corrected. I bought mine 2 years ago.

I just replaced timing chain and sprockets in my '70 big block. At the same time griffin radiator, 7 blade fan, and a higher flow water pump. Runs much cooler and direct fit. Works great for me, the cabin is cooler and much less detonation.
