Just wanted some input about side pipes on my 71 coupe. I have seen the real cool looking hooker chrome pipes and the original style of the 69 look sharp too. What is the best place to buy and do you get tired of the sound? Dumb question, I guess you should never get tired of a BB!
Get tired of the sound?????? NEVER! :nono: There is nothing like the sound of sidepipes. As far as the best place to buy them..I don't know that answer. I picked mine up off a guy that had them on his car for maybe 100 miles. His wife said they were to loud? SS pipes and fiberglass covers all for $250 :D
At first you get tired of burning yourself getting out of the car and the sound seems unbearable. After a while you get smarter on your exits and the sound of the pipes becomes music to your ears, the louder the better!!

Never get tired of the sound! A wonderful, unique experience when you are in the car. Mine came with the car when I bought it - I see pieces and whole sets of originals for sale all the time. Patience will get you a nice set of originals. Repro's are not terribly high - the original style mufflers will set you back a bit. I found a nice used set for $100. The Hooker styles are the ones that seem to burn the worst, but you won't do it more than once :D
Never had any problem with burning myself with my repo-oem`s. The looks and sound are worth every $ spent. No they are not cheep from any one. They have a mellower sound then the chambered system I did have, also no noise reverberating through the car and less heat under the floor pans. :chevy
