Default 1976 Edelbrock Intake Manifold

Hi all, I have an Edelbrock intake manifold on my car installed by the previous owner. I took it off to replace the gaskets.

I noticed the rear water jackets on the heads were completely blocked with corrosion. I also noticed that there is no way for water flow through the intake manifold from the rear water jackets because there is not a opening in the intake manifold there

I am being told this is somewhat common on aftermarket manifolds. I am just trying to confirm that is the case. I don't recall this being the case when I installed a Weiland intake manifold on a different car in the past. I appreciate any comments on this? Thanks.

I have not seen a water passage on the rear of either aftermarket or factory intake manifolds

Cylinder heads are not side specific. Water passages are found on both ends of the head which allows them to be flipped side to side.
