clean up pix...prep for new engine...
but the car has been sitting there acumulating dirt and overspray from painting parts etc...
as a matter of fact, it hadnt even been washed since rolling off of the tow truck from its 300 mile ride home after breaking the crankshaft...
everything that is to be removed has been removed so its time to prep the engine bay etc for the soon to be new engine...
so the wheels went on and i pushed it outside early this morning before work...i jacked it up so that i could also gunk the entire underside as well as the engine bay...grease free...
i also gave it a very thorough wash, dried it and pushed it back inside...
as you can see, i covered it up with blankets to keep it nice and clean...
so the next several days will be spent inside of the engine bay cleaning, painting, restoring etc...
when i drop in that brand new looking engine, i want that bay to look brand new as well...
i also cleaned up the trany...
the 1st pic is of gunking the bay...
the rest are self explanitary...
About a year back, I remember a thread on removing your roof panels or at least unlatching them before you jack up your car. Less risk of cracking them that way. Don't know if it is true or not, but better safe than sorry, no?
when i see the pix of the car covered with blankets except for the engine bay like that...it kinda looks like its gonna be operated on! LOL
