I have a problem with my hip that bothers me in a lot of cars. I figured the trip from Boston to Ft Myers, FL when I bought the car would be torture. I drove it straight through in 28.5 hours (no speed record set there with all the gas stops  )But my hip nor the rest of my body really bothered me.
I'm 6'2" too and was completely comfortable in the stock seats of my 79. More so than any other car I've driven long distance.

Mine are OK, the padding under the seats has gone a little flat however, a lot depends on how soft your suspension is, mines fairly firm so i do know when I have been in it for a while but it's not real bad.

Long drives used to be a pain in the a@#. Then I had new leather seat covers and foam installed. What a difference! My car is actually comfortable...and I sit a little higher in the seat too. :seeya

6' 18 year old with no back or leg troubles, I was perfectly comfortable on my 3 hour trip last week. Wallet is in front pocket due to palm pilot! Stupid fragile technology. Well they're not exactly LaZBoys but they work for me.

I'm 6'2 and my head would be on the roof when I first got my '79. I removed the roofliners from the T-Tops and I can sit straight up now no problem. The strange thing is, my dad's vette is a '79 also, and I have to really lean over (further than I used to have to in my vette) to fit in when I'm driving - for some reason his stock seats are just higher than mine.

As far as trips, the longest I've taken has been about 3-4 hours and I've been fine on all of them. I've actually fallen asleep in parking lots waiting on people before. I think the seats are quite comfortable.

I took my 81' on a 500 mile caravan with 500 or so other corvettes (am I lucky or what :D ) and thought it was as comfortable as a living room recliner. Just sit back, the car fits right around me, and away we go. BTW, I'm 6' 0" and 250 lbs.

I drove mine 3799 miles over a 10 day period and I felt at least 20 years younger at the end of the drive...now about my wallet...it was so thin at the end I didn't even know I had it in my pocket :)

I've never been in mine for more than 3 hours at a time, but it was as comfortable as they come! My back got a little hot, but not too bad- no worse than my Cherokee. But getting past the GW bridge in NYC with a 4-speed is a different story... NOT comfortable. I felt like my left leg had ran a marathon :yesnod: It took several beers to relieve that:cheers:

I'm gearing up to take a 700 mile trip this weekend (putting car in a warmer place for winter). I don't anticipate anything hurting except my pocket:D

Done a couple of 5 hr round trip drives and it wasn't bad. I need to install a cruise control because sometimes my foot cramps.
